Educators are responding to a sense of urgency to meet the changing leadership demands in information technology and data science by developing new academic programs. These programs are focused on continuous, prescriptive learning and an integrated education model between academia and industry. Preparing next-generation technology leaders includes technical competency and business acumen, but does not stop there. Educators must also recognize the ethical implications of the emerging big data era and foster the development of ethical leadership through a framework of competencies that includes emotional and cultural intelligence, adaptive and transformational leadership, and critical thinking.en_US
