    Abstract
This study will examine if there are different cultural perceptions and expressions of depression, and what those may be. Understanding what people from differing cultures believe about the causes of depression, how they express depression, and what they believe to be the treatment for depression is crucial to providing effective mental health care in an increasingly diverse society. A literature review was conducted, followed by the meta-analysis. A discussion and the implications of the results reveal what was learned from the research.
